TOMOTO SCOOTER DRAW
RAISES ALMOST €3,500 FOR CAS

The draw for a brand new 50cc motor scooter
generously donated to CAS by Tomoto of Vélez-Málaga
was made at the Nerja Club Hotel on April 29.

Karen O'Brien with the big prize

Before the draw, however, hotel manager, Antonio Roman, presented CAS with a cheque for €500 euros at the start of a year in which the Nerja Club will be closely associated with CAS.

Richard & Wendy Thorne, Antonio Roman, Mike & Karen O'Brien

In the draw for the scooter, the winning ticket belonged Gil Richardson,
pictured below with his wife Wendy, alongside Brian and Karen on the left
and President Wendy Thorne on the right.

However, Gil immediately put the scooter up for auction
with the generous winning bid coming from Stuart Antrobus, pictured below with Karen.

The evening raised almost €3,500 for CAS funds
and we thank Tomoto, Nerja Club Hotel management and staff,
all who bought raffle tickets and Stuart Antrobus.

NERJA BRIDGE CLUB COMPETITION
RAISES €750 FOR CAS

Wendy Thorne received a cheque for €750
from David Leake of the Nerja Bridge Club on May 7.
David came up with the idea of Bridge Charity Cup which was held in April
to find the best bridge player.  The competition saw teams from
Almuñecar, Capistrano, La Herradura, Maro, Nerja and Lake Viñuela battling it out.
In the end, the winners were a visiting team from Norway!
Also pictured is David's dog KT who was rescued by CAS
and adopted by him three years ago.

was held on the plaza above the underground car park.
