The diversification in the materials and the apparent lightness of his pieces are the main characteristics of SOCO’s sculptures. He never works with the same material, given that he dislikes being tied to anything. He even utilizes materials seemingly unsuited for sculpting, such as ropes and “rafia”. Wire, alabaster, stainless steel, wood, and polyurethane are among some of his more common choices of material in his shop. Lightness is another important characteristic of his work. As he argues, such lightness is the result of his interest in drawing the space: whence stems tridimensionality
