Thank you to everyone who attended the last meeting of the Astronomy Society at the Octagon bar. The next meeting will be on THURSDAY November 26th at 8.00 at the OCTAGON BAR It is now called THE ANGEL MIJAS FAMILY RESTAURANT.

It can be found on the Fuengirola to Mijas Road next to the Valparaiso restaurant and Splash Pools.

I have arranged for Carlos Malagon from the telescopeshop to come along and give us a talk on buying and using a telescope. There may even be a chance to buy telescopes and accesories from him while he is there. Hope to see you there.

The Fuengirola Astronomical society has been set up for English speaking residents living or visiting Spain, who have even a passing interest in Astronomy. It is a very informal affair and everyone is welcome to come along, young or old, it is not regulated by 'Expert Astronomers'! SIR PATRICK MOORE O.B.E. MEETS ONE OF OUR MEMBERS!

On a recent visit back to the UK Lee Osborne managed to meet up with Sir Patrick Moore at his home in Selsey and get him to sign a copy of his Autobiography Called 80 not out. Lee says that Sir Patrick was very pleased to meet up with him and hear all about our Astronomy society here in Fuengirola. Well done Lee!

OCCULTATION OF VENUS

It appears that a lot of people managed to see the beautiful Occultation of Venus and also the close conjunction with Jupiter on Monday 1st December, they certainly made a spectatcular sight in the evening sky. I have enclosed some photgraphs that I took of the event below. If anyone else managed to photograph it then I would be pleased to see them and also include the best on this website.
