BOEING 737NG PANELS Click on the picture and select a panel to see how it has been made (not only panels but pedals, columns...):
In first place, we have to decide what we want to build. In my case, I want to have a very similar panels to the real ones, but not with 100% real appearance, because this would mean very high costs and complexity. The panels I'm going to build will have the same number of switches, displays, arrangement and functions as the real ones, although they will be a little different. Logically, not all the plane systems are simulated, so some panels and elements will be only decorative. One of the most asked questions in our mailing list are those about how to get the real dimensions for all the elements in the cockpit. In the case of our Boeing 737NG, our friend Pedro Bibiloni sent a very good drawings in AutoCad format. You can download it from the Opencockpits web site -> Download section (Note: for those interesated in building an Airbus 320, you have useful information at http://www.simpit.de). In my case, Javier Pérez, who works as a crew member in one B737-800, has informed me about the exact dimensions, type and size of fonts, etc.
