ACCESS

In 10 minutes, there is the “Atocha” train-station, from which, there are continuously trains, as suburban (El Escorial, Toledo, Aranjuez) so long-distance, in trains of high-speed (Sevilla, Valencia, etc.) to any part of Spain.
And in 3 minutes or so, you have the Subway Station that will take you to any point of the city

ADDRESSES & ADVICES

Sundays in the district, one extends by the streets, which is called "El Rastro" famous swap-meet, where any thing can be bought and be sold (antiques, gifts, animals, clothes, etc.). Close to are museums as "The Queen Sofía", "The Prado", "Thyssen." Also you will be able to take a walk to the Retiro, beautiful park with great trees, gardens and small palaces There is small teaters with cheap and interesting works, in addition the new Dramatic Center National Theater Valle Inclán that supplies contemporary plays. In Tirso de Molina this the market of the flowers, recently inaugurated. Also the Spanish Filmoteca (Cinema I gilded) to see films in V.O. a very economic price (approx 2.7 Euros).

"This appartment is fantastic! Its central location makes it a dream to walk around Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Latina, Lapavies, Rastro, Gran Via, Prado, Parco del Buen Retiro. To travel with the metro is also very easy since the Lavapies metro station is 1 minute walk. To travel outside of Madrid is also very easy since Atocha railway station is 10 minutes walk. Shopping is extremely easy with big store at 1 min walk. The apartment is lovely, the beds are very confortable, as well as the bathroom. Diana, the owner, is really nice and helpful. A few suggestions to make it even better: 1. Two sets of keys would be appreciated. 2. A little bit of extra equipment would be apreciated, such as real wine glasses (in order to properly taste Rioja wines and Pato Negro), or a simple juice maker to properly taste the very fruity and juicy spanish oranges. However, this did not prevent us to think this flat was the absolutel best we could find in Madrid for its location, the charming atmosphere, the helpful owner and the price. Thank you."

"L'appartamento risponde in pieno alle aspettative: carino e spazioso, dovrebbe consentire un comodo soggiorno, non solo alle coppie come noi, ma anche alle famiglie e ai gruppi di amici di 4 persone. Bagno e cucina sono dotati di tutte le attrezzature necessarie. Nel quartiere, molto centrale, sentirete di rado parlare castigliano: Lavapiès rappresenta, infatti, l'essenza stessa del concetto di multietnicità! Da apprezzare la vicinanza del supermercato Carrefour e della fermata della metro."

"El piso era estupendo, en el pleno centro de Madrid, muy limpio con todo lo que necesitas. El dueño también es muy simpático y te ayudará con cualquier duda. Era un placer quedarme aquí. The flat was awesome, great location, really well kept and the landlady is lovely. Would definately recommend it. So much better than a hotel as you have so much more personal space to do as you wish."

"Appartement très sympathique, dans un quartier animé proche du centre ville (métro et supermarché à 2 pas). L'appartement était propre et clair. La propriétaire est très aimable et disponible. A recommander ABSOLUMENT. Lovely well situated appartment. The lodger was really helpful and welcoming. An excellent address if you want to visit this beautiful city."
