The soundtrack of Richard Curtis last movie "The Boat That Rocked" includes a cover version of Lorraine Ellison's "Stay With Me" performed by Duffy and produced by Bernard Butler.
Bernard is currently producing the debut album of Channel 4's Orange Unsigned Act competition winner Tommy Reilly and he also has co-written and produced a song called "Heart Of Stone" for London artist Jonathan Jeremiah whose debut album will be released later in the year.

'The Veils' new album 'Sun Gangs' (out on april 6th) will include the song 'Sit Down By The Fire' which was produced by Bernard Butler and it is likely to be the first single from the album. Bernard has already produced several songs in the past for 'The Veils'.

Bernard has been working recently with Duffy on the new Warchild album 'Heroes' which is out today featuring a cover of Paul McCartney & Wings' 'Live And Let Die'.
Bernard also has produced Duffy on the new Diet Coke advert featuring a cover of Sammy Davis Jr. 'I've got to be me'. The ad will be premiered on ITV next wednesday during the Brit Awards ceremony.

Bernard Butler has won the top prize at the Music Producers' Guild Awards as 'Producer of the year' beating the other nominees Brian Eno and Steve Mac. This prize doubles as a Brit Award for Best producer.
The ceremony took place last night at London's Cafe de Paris and Duffy handed him the trophies.
Congratulations to Bernard for these well deserved awards.

a surprise appearance
and joined Duke Special onstage at Proud Galleries, Camden. He played guitar on 'Those Proverbs Were Made In Winter', a song co-written and produced by Bernard for Duke Special album'I Never Thought This Day Would Come' which was released in october.

Bernard Butler is among the nominees for the inaugural Music Producers Guild Awards as 'Producer Of The Year'. The other nominees are Brian Eno and Steve Mac. The winner of the 'Producer of the Year' Award will also receive the BRIT Award for Best Producer. Both awards will be presented at the Music Producers Guild's Awards ceremony, which will take place at London's Cafe de Paris on February 12th 2009

Sharleen Spiteri's new single 'It Was You' co-written and co-produced by Bernard Butler is released today (1 December) as a digital download.
Bernard has just finished a track for 'Florence & The Machine' and also he has been working on solo records for 'Kate Jackson' (The Long Blondes) and 'Catherine A.D.', both writing, playing and producing.
The recently released deluxe edition of Duffy's album "Rockferry" includes a second cd with 2 tracks co-written by Duffy and Bernard ('Fool For You' and 'Stop') and 4 tracks produced by Bernard ('Fool For You', 'Stop', 'Please Stay' and 'Enough Love').
The new Duffy cd-single 'Rain on Your Parade' includes as a b-side 'Syrup and Honey' co-written and produced by Bernard Butler and previously released on the 'Rockferry' album. The 7" single includes 'Smoke Without Fire', a song co-written and produced by Bernard. This song also features piano by Bernard.

Bernard has been working last week producing 'Breathe Deeper', the first single of a band called 'The Mescalitas' for Rough Trade to be released on November. He's still working on the '1990s' debut album and also producing another 'The On-Off's' single. Work with 'Duffy' is still on progress.

Bernard has announced on his website he's started to work again in the studio with 1990s to produce their debut album. Bernard already produced a new version of 1990's song called "You're Supposed to Be My Friend" which is going to be the next single of this band.

Bernard has announced on his website he's in the studio producing a scottish band called 1990s for Rough Trade Records. He's also still working with 'Duffy', 'Richard Walters' album and also with Noel Hogan's (The Cranberries) project called 'Monoband' where Richard Walters is the singer too. Nathan Fisher and Mako Sakamoto from The Tears are also playing on this project.

'Back Down', the song Bernard wrote for Chrissy Hynde back in 1998 is finally released on the disc 4 of the new 'Pretenders' box set called 'Pirate Radio'.
Bernard also co-produced and played acoustic guitar on this song.

Bernard produced the last 'The Cribs' single 'You're Gonna Lose Us' released on December through Wichita Recordings.
He also has been working in the studio producing and playing with a welsh singer called 'Duffy'. A demo of a song called 'Rockferry' was aired on the BBC last December.
Another Bernard production features an Oxford singer/songwriter called 'Richard Walters'. You can hear Bernard's work with Richard on a demo called 'Matress Fire' at Richard Walter's MySpace site.
Bernard has been working these days with a new band called 'The On-Off's' producing their forthcoming single 'Wrong Upstairs' which will be released in June.
