Brett Anderson has revealed in a post at the official forum he's starting today work on the new album and he plans for it to be the most minimal thing he has ever done, heavily influenced by the recent acoustic shows.

Brett also revealed he recently sung a duet with the French actress/singer Emmanuelle Seigner for her band 'Ultra Orange and Emmanuelle'. The song is called 'Les Mots Simples' and Brett described it as a real cinematic spine-tingler. There's no release date confirmed yet.

He also posted his cultural list of the year 2007:

Brett played last night an acoustic gig with Amy Langley on cello at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga, Spain.
The show included a piano version of Suede's 'My Dark Star' and two unreleased songs: 'A Different Place' and 'Blessed' which was premiered last night.

A few hours before the show Brett did a press conference at the Molina Lario hotel where he revealed he already has written 6 songs for the new album which will be short, minimalistic and dark. He expects to release the new album this year.

Brett has revealed on his official forum he has finished writing his second album and is scheduled to enter the studio in early may. There will be just two musicians: brett on piano and guitar and Amy Langley on cello and the songs will be recorded as complete live takes with just a minimum number of overdubs (backing vocals and cello harmonies). Most of the songs are written by brett but "there will be a couple of surprises".

An electric show with Supergrass on 31st may will take place at a venue called Winzavod in Moscow, Russia and there are plans for more shows in and out of the UK this year.

Brett will be playing a full band electric show at the Jarocin Festival in Poland on July 18th.
Brett has giving away his old 'Steinway & Sons' piano due to lack of space to a fan through a competition.

Brett's show in Moscow will definitely be on June 1st.

Brett Anderson will play a full band electric show at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago de Chile on June 6th.
This will be Brett's first ever show in South America.

According to Brett's management, recording sessions of Brett's second solo album at RAK studios in London have just finished and the album will be mixed and mastered over the next few days.

Brett Anderson will be premiering his new album at a special show at the Mermaid Theatre in London on Monday 7th July. Tickets are now on sale and a copy of the new album will be sent out on an USB stick with each ticket.

Brett Anderson, who starts rehearsals tomorrow for the shows in Moscow and Chile has posted on his official forum about the forthcoming new album and his personal sensations:

"Ok, so the album is all done and ready to roll. i recorded everything live to 2 inch tape with no click tracks and just one other musician playing cello. the whole thing was recorded and mixed in 7 sunny days in May and it was one of the most satisfying records i have ever been involved with. it is simple, personal, bleak ,raw , romantic and soulful and is full of the jagged edges and hiss and crackle of the studio. of course i love the songs, there would be something very wrong if i didn't.some of you will love them too and some of you will probably hate what i have done.that's just how it works. as long as your constructive critism doesn't become personal invective i am genuinely fine with that. i made the album with the purest of intentions: to create a beautiful suite of songs untethered by second guessing markets and playlists and music biz bullshit . i have no record company, no publisher , and a dwindling audience but i have never been more confident and focussed about what i am doing as an artist. the title of the album reflects this sense of where i see myself but you will have to wait for that.

there will be some new You Tube films (see below) appearing very soon of bits and pieces of new songs in their rawest form so keep your eyes peeled....

i suppose i should tell you that personally i have never in my life been happier than the time that i made this record. it's a wonderful thing to reach 40 and realize that your best days are still ahead of you.

Brett played last night (june 1st) at the BlastFest in Moscow. The show was an electric one with mainly Brett's first album and Suede songs and the live premiere of one of the songs featured on the last week YouTube video possibly called 'The Empress'.

According to the NME french singer/actress Emmanuelle Seigner will be joining Brett & Amy at The Mermaid on july 7th for a couple of songs.
Brett provided vocals on the Emmanuelle Seigner single 'Les Mots Simples' recorded last year and now she appears on a reworked version of 'Back To You' on Brett's new album.

Tickets for the Mermaid Theatre show and the USB sticks with Brett's new album 'Wilderness' have started to be sent out. Emmanuelle Seigner appears on a reworked version of 'Back To You' and not on 'A Different Place' like NME reported few days ago. The album also contains a reworked version of 'Clowns' previously released as a 'Love Is Dead' single b-side. Album tracklist goes like this:
